  28. What do you mean "Atari has about half."  All Atari machines in production
  29. come with 720k 3.5 inch drives.  These disks are in IBM format and can be
  30. exchanged between Atari and IBM and Clones.  The Disks can be formatted up to
  31. 956K, I believe, but this is unreliable.  There are several Mac Emulators
  32. for the Atari ST.  In my opinion the Best is Spectra GCR by Dave Small of
  33. Gadgets by Small.  It lets you read and right directly to Mac disks and
  34. use a partition of your ST's hard drive as a Mac hard drive.  The Mac
  35. emulator for the Amiga required that you have access to a real Mac to
  36. transfer software over to its non-standard disk format or purchase a real
  37. Mac disk drive to attach to the Amiga.  Also, as far as I know, the Amiga
  38. Mac emulator does not allow you to access your hard drive (this may change).
  39. When using the Amiga in 640 x 400 mode, it suffers from interlacing, and the
  40. screen flickers.  This drives me crazy!  This will be corrected when the
  41. Extended Chip Set is available, but this also requires a new monitor.
  42. On the ST, you get 640 x 400 resolution in Monochrome (Like on a Mac) with
  43. out any flicker, in fact it looks sharper then the Mac's screen and it is
  44. bigger.  It is also possible to overscan on the ST like the Amiga, this is
  45. a very simple modification and I think cost approx $5.
  46.         There are also several IBM emulators for the ST.  Some are internal
  47. modifications and others are plug in boxes that operate concurrently with
  48. the ST and let you switch between the two environments.  I have heard of
  49. one that has a 386 on the board, but I have not seen it yet.

  77. Well, it runs faster than a Mac SE... on a stock Amiga.  It's definitely
  78. not shabby, and I've _seen_ it run.  But I won't say that Spectre isn't
  79. any good, because I haven't seen it.

  87. The Amiga, in the beginning, was owned almost exclusively by hackers.
  88. Besides, a stock Amiga can do 768x480 without any hardware mod.

  121. You _should_ get whatever you feel is the best machine for you.  As you may
  122. have noticed, I can argue with you all day about which machine is better and
  123. neither of us will concede.  That's because we _both_ like our machines.  If
  124. you weren't happy with your machine, you wouldn't argue for it, and I wouldn't
  125. argue for my machine if I didn't like mine.

  127. If I were a techo-peasant and had absolutely no idea what to do when I sat
  128. down at a computer, I'd get a Mac, simply because its practically guaranteed
  129. to be easy to use.  That's its strong point.  If I wanted to do MIDI, I'd buy
  130. an Atari ST.  Since I like what the Amiga does for me, that's what I have.

  170. I have the 33D and all I can say is, it is very nice. You need to adjust it very
  171.  exactly, but once that is done that is it, it offers virtually perfect color
  172.  and mono, I'd salent, it is LARGER than sm124 yet just as sharp (actually
  173.  SHARPER in corners in my opinion).

  213.         I have a picture in Adobe-2.0 postscript and I tried to import
  214.         it into PageStream using the EPS import.  It did not work, all
  215.         that was left of Mr. Simpson was a square with an x through it.

  218.         PageStream or EasyDraw or MacDraw II will understand?
